The forms were set for the walls and foundation of the lower level (basement). Concrete was pumped in and, once the walls were set, the forms were removed.

Lane Closure Today S. Florissant Road

The plumbing contractor for the Fire Station Project will be saw cutting the asphalt on S. Florissant Road from the new Fire Station site to the main water line at Tiffin. This will cause two lanes of S. Florissant to be closed throughout the day. The work will begin after morning rush hour and will be completed before evening rush hour.

Field Report as of March 2, 2012

As construction crews were completing earth moving activity, ground water was found on the site.  The excess water caused the soil to fail compaction requirement testing.  Lime was brought in and mixed with fill soil to aid in compaction.  Testing has been completed and the site now exceeds compaction requirements for footings and foundations.

Layouts for footings and foundations were prepared and the first footing was poured on Wednesday, February 29.
